U.S. Futsal Announces Denison Cabral as Director of Youth Player Development
U.S. Futsal (USFF) is proud to announce that Denison Cabral, former US National Futsal Team member and indoor soccer star, as the Director of Youth Player Development to head U.S. Futsal’s recently established Youth Development Program. This program will improve the opportunities for players of all ages to represent US Futsal on the international stage. “By identifying players through our regional and national competitions, we will create opportunities for our youth players to showcase their skills and provide them with more opportunities to play Futsal and soccer and a higher level once they evolve to the amateur status,” remarked Alex Para, President of U.S. Futsal.
“Denison’s passion and love for the game will be a great asset to the federation as we strive to improve developing true Futsal players and ultimately create brilliant soccer players through the sport,” said Jim Oman, U.S. Futsal Executive Vice President and Director of Operations for Player Development. “Denison knows the game and is the perfect selection for this position. His professional Futsal experience representing the United States at the FIFA World Championships in 2008 along with his tremendous training techniques have proven to be extremely successful with numerous teams wining state, regional and national competitions. Denison is about developing Futsal players that will develop the necessary skills and creativity needed for U.S. Futsal and US Soccer’s national teams”.

About Denison CabralDenison Cabral, one of the most popular players in the history of professional indoor soccer in Baltimore, is entering his 8th year as the President and Director of Coaching of the Denison Cabral Futsal Academy. Working with boys and girls from ages 4 to 19, the DCFA is one of the powers in Futsal in the Maryland and the country.
Native from Florianopolis, Brazil, Denison has played professional Indoor for the Baltimore Blast (MISL). Cabral, a six-time League All Star, is the all-time leading point scorer in Baltimore's franchise history with more than 920 points during his indoor soccer career. He ranks 25th all-time in the history of indoor soccer in points.
In 2002-03 season he won his first Championship and was named MVP of the 2003 Finals after leading the Blast with 14 points in the playoffs. Cabral earned 6 six All-Star honors and three Championships defending the Baltimore Blast franchise wearing the number 5 jersey.
Cabral began playing professional Futsal in Brazil at the age of 15 for S.E.R. Sadia and Palmeiras Futsal Clubs and ventured to the United States in 1994.
He became a U.S. citizen on May 11, 2007 and was shortly thereafter selected as a member of the U.S. Futsal National Team. He currently shares the experience and love for the game coaching and training over 225 kids. Denison was the first coach in Maryland and the region to take a team Brazil to participate in a International Futsal tournament and a week of training.
